The start of December marks the beginning of a number of festive proceedings: the unboxing of advent calendars, the adorning of tinsel on work desks and, of course, the Design Portfolio Chairman’s lunch in both Leeds and London.
As usual, our offices were in for a treat. In Leeds, the afternoon was spent feasting on Asian cuisine at the plush Tattu in the heart of the city centre. We were served up a canapé menu that sampled tastes across the continent, from baby squid to xiaolongbao, and kept us munching away until we could barely walk.
The London office was treated to an equally impressive traditional Christmas meal at Drake & Morgan’s The Pagination, in and amongst the high rise of Canary Wharf. A table was festively decorated for our 40 strong, hungry members of staff and Design Portfolio family and, following the usual traditions, we exchanged some wonderfully thoughtful “Secret Santa” gifts – and others which were designed to make us laugh…!
Sitting down with everyone, it was a great chance to catch up and reflect on some of the work completed over the past year. We all left more than happy that we had braved the freezing winds and weather for a highly enjoyable afternoon.
