Account Executive at the heart of our fast-developing business

Design Portfolio provides corporate and investor communications, mostly to companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. We are on a mission to be the best at what we do and be recommended by everyone we work with - relationships are our number one priority. Main responsibilities:

  • Support our Client Services team in the smooth production of projects.
  • Help manage designated projects on a day-to-day basis, helping to update and manage administration using a management information system.
  • Assist with overseeing design and content changes to projects to ensure accuracy, consistency and quality at all stages.
  • Develop an understanding of the print and production process and approvals internally and externally, including: proofing, and liaising with the print and mailing teams.

Typical activities:

  • Assisting the Client Services team in the administration and production of client projects.
  • Updating timetables and helping to update these in line with key milestones. Developing an understanding of timetables.
  • Monitoring and updating of administration throughout the project.
  • Assisting with production planning through the use of production calendars and production lists.
  • Liaising with registrars to create mail out questionnaires for client post outs.
  • Overseeing design and content changes to projects to ensure accuracy, consistency and quality at all stages.
  • Checking in client amends throughout the proofing process.
  • Supporting the Client Services team with queries relating to the management information system.
  • Supporting the Client Services team with ad hoc admin requests.

Candidate requirements

For this role, we are looking for a candidate who:

  • has a university degree (preferably English, business or media related) or relative experience. Candidates who lack professional qualifications or training should have proof of working in a busy corporate communications/agency/office environment;
  • has a can-do attitude, is organised and is a highly proactive administrator;
  • is aware of the importance of client/customer relationships; and
  • has excellent attention to detail.

Benefits

This role is for a fixed term of 6 months, based on a salary of £16,000. After 5 months of employment the contract will be reviewed and may lead to permanent opportunities or additional contract periods.

A junior role at the heart of our fast-developing business

Design Portfolio is seeking an enthusiastic and bright-minded person to join our growing team, with excellent writing skills and a business analytical yet creative approach.

The research and strategy team at Design Portfolio is responsible for building an in-depth knowledge of corporate communications across print, digital and video, guiding clients on best practice reporting and communications, negotiating the regulatory landscape and working closely with designers to help capture the essence of a company’s investment case and equity story.

You will be required to get under the skin of our clients’ businesses to quickly understand how they work and to gain a solid understanding of their evolving communications landscape, helping to advise them on how best to tell their story.

Your main responsibilities would be to:

  • contribute towards research projects in digital, sustainability and wider corporate communications;
  • manage and populate monthly industry news via the internal “Newsflow” and via DP blogs;
  • support with team admin and library management; and
  • contribute towards client presentations.

For this role, we are looking for a candidate who:

  • is interested in research and analysing trends and developments;
  • has some experience in corporate communications, preferably through work experience;
  • has a basic understanding of business and finance;
  • has an engaging and professional writing style;
  • is proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel;
  • is ambitious, willing to learn and would eventually like to be presenting to clients; and
  • is sociable and most importantly has a positive attitude.

At the heart of our fast-developing business

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to provide front of house receptionist duties and financial/administrative support to DP’s London head office. Ideally we would like to see the receptionist progress within the business into our Finance department, leading to increased responsibilities/career development.

What you will do

Typical tasks as receptionist will include:

  • Answering phones, directing calls and taking messages
  • Maintaining a smart, hospitable and helpful manner to clients and colleagues alike
  • Courier bookings and general correspondence with courier company (to confirm delivery times, get delivery quotes etc.) in addition to signing for both courier deliveries and normal post and then distributing accordingly
  • Managing and logging Royal Mail postal orders
  • Keeping check of stationery stocks, making stationery orders and sourcing supplies if necessary
  • Flight, train or passenger car bookings on request
  • Providing refreshment/lunches for Board, Senior Management and client meetings
  • Keeping the reception, boardroom/meeting room and general office tidy

In addition, the Receptionist role will include some finance responsibilities, eventually leading in to a role within the Finance department. Typical activities will include:

  • Entering supplier invoice to our management information system (Synergist)
  • Raising purchase orders for supplier purchases where required
  • Assist with setting up and completing monthly reports
  • Raising sales invoices in relation to post and courier costs to clients
  • Check any discrepancies on the orders with the person who raised the order

What you’ll need

For this role, we are looking for a candidate who:

  • has an interest in book-keeping
  • has commenced with the AAT qualification or relative experience. Candidates who lack professional qualifications or training should have proof of working in a busy corporate environment;
  • has a can-do attitude, is organised, is a highly proactive administrator and able to manage multiple tasks;
  • has a good knowledge of Microsoft packages; and
  • has excellent attention to detail.
