December just wouldn’t be the same without the office Christmas party would it?
The culmination of a few months’ brainstorming and planning from our internal Culture team resulted in annual festivities that did not disappoint. Held at The Narrowboat pub with its amazing views over Regent’s Canal in Islington, our teams came together from across the UK for one momentous night of food, quizzes, drinking and… well, a few floating hot tubs!
Senior management kicked off the evening by reviewing the successes of the past year, touching on some big client wins and showcasing some of the outstanding creative work delivered by the team. (Somehow incorporating honeymoon photos from our Head of Design, Nik Byrne, into the mix as well!)
Our MD, Julie Wilford, said:
“It has been a year of planned investment in our people and in our business. The quality of our team, our creative ideas, our advice and our delivery continues to set us apart and we are excited about the opportunities in 2018. I would like to thank the Design Portfolio team for always going the extra mile and for providing outstanding service to our growing client base.”
Following the review of our achievements, it was time to celebrate! It all began with a trip to the free bar. Dangerous. Once everyone had their drink of choice, the pub quiz kicked off, accompanied by an excellent playlist compiled by our very own resident DJ, (our Business Development Manager) Joe Brooks.
The next few hours flew by, with drinks flowing and singing and dancing aplenty.
The party moved to The Ladybird, a busy bar in the centre of Angel, where the team danced until the early hours, until only a few remained.
As always, our Christmas party was a lovely time to reflect on the achievements of the past year, look to the future and get into the festive spirit before the holiday break – which is almost upon us. It was a Christmas cracker of a night and not soon forgotten – although one or two heads may have been a bit hazy the next day!
From all of us here at Design Portfolio, we wish you a very happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year. If you would like to get in touch in 2018, say hello at firstname.lastname@example.org – we’re a friendly bunch.
